VAT number: [PLACEHOLDER — VAT registration number needed]
Contact: [PLACEHOLDER — phone and email needed]

2. These Terms

These terms and conditions apply to all orders placed through theoffgridshop.co.uk. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before ordering.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you place your order will apply to that order.

3. Ordering and Payment

All prices on our website are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT at the current rate. Trade account holders may see prices displayed excluding VAT — see our trade terms for details.

We accept payment by credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay via our payment processor, Stripe. Payment is taken at the time your order is placed.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, for example if a product is out of stock or if we identify a pricing error. If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.

4. Pricing and Accuracy

We make every effort to ensure that prices and product descriptions on our website are accurate. If we discover an error in the price or description of a product you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatching your order and offer you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

5. Delivery

Delivery terms are set out on our Delivery Information page. Delivery timescales are estimates and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by couriers or events outside our control.

Ownership of the goods passes to you on delivery. Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to the address you provided at checkout.

6. Returns and Refunds

Our returns policy is set out on our Returns & Refunds page. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are not affected by these terms.

7. Product Descriptions

Product specifications, compatibility notes, and technical data on our website are provided for general guidance. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, specifications may change without notice. Always check the manufacturer’s data sheet for definitive specifications.

Product images are for illustration purposes. Actual products may differ slightly in appearance from the images shown.

8. Design Tool Disclaimer

Our system design tool provides automated recommendations based on the information you provide. While every design is checked by our engineers before dispatch, the design tool output is provided as general guidance and does not constitute professional electrical advice.

You are responsible for ensuring that any electrical system is installed safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations. We strongly recommend that all electrical installations are carried out or inspected by a qualified electrician.

We do not accept liability for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the installation or use of products recommended by the design tool, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

[SOLICITOR — This is the most important clause for legal review. The design tool provides automated system design recommendations. This clause must limit liability for those recommendations while remaining enforceable under UK consumer law.]

9. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total price paid for that order.

We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of use.

[SOLICITOR — Standard limitation clause. Must be reasonable under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and Consumer Rights Act 2015.]

10. Intellectual Property

All content on our website — including text, images, diagrams, wiring schematics, guide content, and design tool outputs — is the property of The Off Grid Shop or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially use any content without our written permission.

11. Privacy

We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By placing an order, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in that policy.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also have additional rights under the laws of the country where you live, and nothing in these terms affects those rights.

[SOLICITOR — Confirm jurisdiction clause is appropriate.]
